Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health

During these uncertain times, we hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. Temporarily, our Community Health Nursing home visitation programs and Maternal Child Adolescent Health services are limited due to the deployment of public/community health nurses to COVID-19 immunizations. We are triaging referrals and sending letters with resources to the people that we are unable to reach or provide services. Thank you for your understanding. Call if you have any questions or need clarification at 805-981-5115.

Goals

  • Provide mothers and children access to quality maternal, child and adolescent health services. There is an emphasis to those with low income or limited resources.
  • Reduce infant mortality and preventable diseases. Promote health and wellbeing for children with special needs.
  • Promote the health of mothers and infants by improving access to prenatal care for low-income, at-risk pregnant women.
  • Promote the health of children by improving access to preventive care for low-income children.

Services

Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health assess the needs of women, infants, children and adolescents by providing case management and home visitations and coordinating and planning services in collaboration with different agencies. We conduct community health status assessments, identify barriers to services and develop policies based on the outcomes. In addition, we coordinate health outreach and service quality assurance for women, children and their families.
