Once again, the flu season is upon us, and one way to keep healthy this winter is to get your flu shot. Funding for the annual influenza program is limited. The influenza vaccine is provided by the CA Department of Public Health Immunization Branch.
Priority will be given to the following groups subject to availability of vaccine:
• Adults 60+
• Adults and children who have chronic medical problems (i.e. asthma, aspirin therapy, immunosuppression, metabolic disorders)
• Children 6 months – 18 years of age
• Pregnant women
• Healthcare personnel who provide direct patient care
• Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children aged less than 6 months
* Seasonal influenza vaccine is formulated to prevent annual flu; some clinics may offer vaccine to non-high-risk persons.
