Air Rescue/Transport

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office maintains Search and Rescue Units that include EMT's , Paramedics, Nurses and other health care professionals. A "Help From Above" team can fly to scenes and perform technical rescues in areas where first responders and ground ambulances can't go. Air rescue is also used when transport times are lengthy and the need for rapid transport is critical.

Hospitals

There are eight hospitals in Ventura County. Four are "Base Hospitals" which coordinate care, provide medical control for the paramedics, and provide continuing education through experienced Emergency Room Physicians and Pre-hospital Care Coordinators (RN's).

The Base Hospitals are:
