Ventura College Paramedic Studies Program Ventura College provides the only fully accredited paramedic training program in the nation. The Paramedic Studies program is a full time two-semester program designed to prepare individuals to work as paramedics with specific knowledge of the paramedic profession, sound theoretical rationale, critical thinking skills and proficiency in practical skills, which will provide the basis for decision-making and success in the workplace. Successful completion of this program will allow the student to sit for the National Registry of EMT-Ps Licensing Examination. In keeping with the standard in the state of California, this program will offer two tracks: preparation for certification as a paramedic, with or without an associate degree. Prerequisites
National Registry Testing Beginning on January 1, 2007 National Registry will begin computer-based testing only. All applications will be submitted electronically to National Registry and all tests will be taken via computer. Ventura County EMS will no longer be giving National Registry exams.
