Services
Ventura County Public Health provides public health services for all people in Ventura County, especially those who would otherwise not have access to care and those who live in lower income areas of our communities. Our responsibilities include:
Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues.
Develop policies, plans and services to improve individual and community health.
Link people to needed personal health services and improve access to health care when otherwise unavailable.
Monitor health status to identify community health problems.
Identify and reduce community health problems and hazards.
Mobilize community partnerships to solve health problems.
Enforce laws and regulations to protect health and safety.
Assure a competent public health workforce.
Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of individual and community health services.
Research and implement solutions to health problems.
